Mobile Trailer Electrical & Lighting Repair
Fairfield • Dixon • Vacaville

Nothing grounds a fleet faster than a short in the harness or an ABS warning light. In the windy I-80 corridor of Fairfield, Dixon, and Vacaville, vibration destroys trailer wiring. We don't just swap bulbs — we trace the short, solder the connection, and seal the harness. Whether it's a flickering marker light or a dead 7-way plug, we bring the diagnostic lab to your yard. Fleet yards 100+ trailers across Northern California including Sacramento, Stockton, Modesto, Tracy, Roseville, Elk Grove, West Sacramento & Woodland.

Electrical Services We Perform On-Site

🔌 7-Way Plug & Receptacle

Replace melted or corroded nose boxes and plugs to restore tractor-trailer communication. Common on high-mileage trailers with moisture intrusion.

🚨 ABS Diagnostics & Sensors

Yellow ABS light on? We plug into the ECU (Meritor/Wabco/Haldex), read fault codes, and replace faulty wheel speed sensors or modulator valves.

💡 LED Lighting Upgrades

Replace dim incandescent lights with high-visibility sealed LED grommet-mount lights. Lasts longer and draws less amperage.

⚡ Harness Repair & Wire Tracing

Locate rubbed wires inside frame rails and splice/shrink-wrap them. Use wire loom and grommets to protect repairs from vibration and moisture.

🔗 Converter Dolly Electrical

Fix pigtails and pintle hook electrical connections on doubles/triples. These connections take the most abuse in high-wind I-80 conditions.

🔧 Liftgate Electrical Diagnostics

Bad grounds, failed solenoids, and battery charging cable issues on Maxon and Waltco gates. We diagnose and repair control systems.

FAQ: Trailer Electrical & Lighting

How much does it cost to fix an ABS light?

Often, it's just a dirty or misaligned wheel speed sensor. We can usually clean the sensor and push it back into proper position (1-2mm gap from the tone ring) to clear the code without replacing expensive parts. The sensor itself costs $40-80, while a modulator valve can run $400-800.

Can you diagnose liftgate electrical problems?

Yes. We diagnose bad grounds, failed solenoids, and battery charging cables on Maxon and Waltco liftgates. Common issues include corroded ground connections at the hinge points and failed up/down switch assemblies. Most liftgate electrical problems can be fixed on-site.

Do you convert fleets to LED lighting?

Yes. We offer fleet-wide lighting retrofits. LEDs draw significantly less amperage (0.2A vs 2.1A per bulb) and reduce strain on your electrical system. This extends the life of your 7-way plugs and reduces voltage drop issues. LEDs also last 10x longer than incandescent bulbs.

How do you find electrical shorts?

We use a multimeter to test continuity through each circuit, working backward from the symptom to the source. We check for voltage drops, resistance changes, and intermittent grounds. We also visually inspect the harness for chafing, pinch points, and corrosion. Most shorts occur where the harness passes through frame crossmembers or near the landing gear.

What ABS systems do you work on?

We service all three major ABS systems: Meritor WABCO (most common in Wabash/Great Dane), Haldex (common in utility trailers), and Bendix (older systems). We carry diagnostic tools and replacement sensors for all three brands.

What size fleets do you work with?

We specialize in fleet yards operating 100+ commercial trailers across Northern California's I-80 and I-5 corridors. No roadside or freeway service.
